W. LAMBERT (“Bert”) WELLING, Managing Director
Bert founded MedTech Capital in 1994. Previously he was a Managing Director of Advest Corporate Finance, a firm focused on Mergers and Acquisitions in the middle market. In 1984 he was a founder and Managing Director of the investment banking firm Ulin, Morton, Bradley, & Welling, which was sold to Advest in 1990.
Bert came to the Boston area in 1972 to become the Vice President of Federal Street Capital Corp., a Boston based Venture Capital firm. During that time he invested in a number of early stage firms and was a founder of the New England Venture Capital Association.
He began his business career at Scott Paper Company in industrial sales. Subsequently he moved into Scott’s Corporate Finance department, with responsibilities which included participating in the management of Scott’s Venture Capital Fund.
Bert holds an AB from Middlebury College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

EDWARD B. MARSH JR., MD, Managing Director
Dr. Marsh joined MedTech Capital in 2001, bringing 30 years of experience in the hands-on practice of clinical medicine, principally in the nonsurgical areas of pediatrics, family medicine, emergency and military medicine, and occupational health and safety. The settings of these practices varied widely, from a 2-person private practice to a 600-clinician multispecialty HMO, to a deployable Army Reserve unit.
In addition to a clinical practice, Ed chaired for 20 years an Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects Research overseeing compliance with Federal Guidelines. Within the HMO, he conceived, developed, and managed a $1.5M Occupational Medicine “start-up” subunit, and achieved profitable status within the first year. He was elected several times to the Board of Trustees of the HMO, and was part of a select committee designated to investigate and select an electronic medical record system for the organization. He held a faculty appointment to Harvard Medical School throughout his clinical career, and resigned from the Army Reserves at the rank of Colonel.
Dr. Marsh has an AB from Princeton University, an MD from Johns Hopkins University and completed approximately half the requirements for an MPH from Medical College of Wisconsin.

ROBERT W. MACLEOD, Managing Director
Mr. Macleod has had a lifetime of experience with operating companies, primarily in the healthcare and financial service sector. Exposure within healthcare was both from the service as well as the provider side. During his 24 years with the Kendall Company, he held a wide range of corporate officer positions of this international supplier of healthcare supplies. Exposure to medical supplies distribution followed in his role as the CFO of Foster Medical. Board involvement including that as Chairman of the Board of Neponset Valley Health System came during a period of rapid integration for tertiary hospitals seeking to attract patients through a broader array of services.
Bob holds a BA from Trinity College and participated in the MBA program of Harvard Business School.

ROBERT J. DEININGER, Managing Director
Mr. Deininger is a graduate of Northeastern University and has 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has had extensive involvement in drug development, sales and marketing, pre-market clinical research and generic drug licensing.
Bob was until 2005 Executive Vice President of AAI Pharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Wilmington, NC. Prior to that time, he was Executive Vice President of Medical & Technical Research Associates (MTRA), a CRO based in Needham and Boston, and subsequently acquired by AAI Pharma. He was a Marketing Representative for Baxter Laboratories for 6 years, after which he joined MTRA. He has been an invited speaker at a number of industry forums.
He served as a Board Member of South Shore Health and Educational Corporation and previously was Chairman of the South Shore Hospital Foundation.

ROBERT BELLIVEAU, MD, Director
Dr. Belliveau is a specialist in pathology, nuclear medicine, cancer detection, laboratory medicine and medical imaging. He has served as medical director to several commercial medical and imaging laboratories. Currently he is a Professor of Biology and Medical Director in a joint program of Biology and Nuclear Medicine at Salem State University (a member of the Massachusetts University system) and a consulting pathologist at several hospitals in the Boston area.
Bob earned his MD at Yale University School of Medicine with post doctoral training at the National Cancer Institute (NIH) He is the author of many scientific publications and continues to teach at Salem State University.
